GraphicsSome of these projects are reflected in other entries on my site; this serves as a one-stop summary of my graphics work.
Graphics are a huge part of why I love being in a live music scene. Branding is how a band presents itself to the world. It draws listeners into albums, communicates logistics to fans interacting with the music, and contributes to a cohesive audio-visual aesthetic for an act. When designing a band’s graphics, I aim to convert their sound into a full branding package. Jazz might harken back to Blue Note Records, whereas frenetic post-rock might yield collage. I try to capture brand in type, color, and imagery. My work with Fire Trail has the most cohesive branding package, including promo for two album release cycles and a custom typeface, but I’m proud to show projects from across my experience.
Band GraphicsAs a musician, I love providing graphics for my peers and for my own projects. I’ve divided the work here into three sections: my work for Fire Trail’s One of the Two album release, my work for their Cut to Confetti album release, and miscellaneous concert posters.
Satirical branding, illustration, & Photo manipulationI’ve served as the primary graphic designer for three satirical publications: The Free Peach, Plot Twist Magazine, and The Broadstroke. None of these sites had any graphics budgets, so image subcomponents are primarily sourced from creative commons-friendly, attribution-free sources.
Punctuation: A ZineInitially part of a graphic design workshop, this zine highlights my love of punctuation and compares the connection between words with the connection between people. I illustrated and risograph-printed Punctuation in 2022 and distributed it at a number of independent booksellers throughout california.
