Designer & Engineer
Studying engineering taught me that design is a multidisciplinary process. Whether I’m working on mixing equipment for cheese production, system workflows for lab equipment, or graphics for music promotion, I translate the technical for the hands of the user— and try to make it beautiful along the way. I’m interested in making my designs human and making them flexible.
When I’m not designing, you can find me playing in bands around the Bay Area, writing, and studying food science in my home kitchen.
Why is your website called “kerpau”?
Well, my last name is "Pauker," but all the cool "Pauker" domain names were taken. I could've gone with the boring option (shanepauker.com), but swapping the syllables in my last name gave me "kerpau." "Kerpau" has a few advantages:
It's easier to remember
It sounds like a sound effect for when Batman punches someone
It helps you pronounce my name (POW-ker, not PAW-ker).
Regardless, you can also access this page via the more obvious (but less fun) shanepauker.com
